Note 37 - Wellness Diary in NYC
New York City view
Happy Sunday!
This week is all about my trip to New York: a mix of outfits and a little wellness diary from my time there. It was a very last-minute trip and a short one too, but the city really energized and inspired me. I didn’t think I would be back in the U.S. this year, but I decided to romanticize my stay and revisit either my favourite spots or new places I had saved on social media. And I did my best to document it all.
I hope you enjoy it!
What I Wore in NYC
DAY 1
I arrived in New York in the middle of a heatwave, so the challenge was finding something that felt polished while still being breathable in the city heat. I wore this effortlessly chic St. Agni dress, which quickly became one of my favorite looks from the trip. I love the racerback detail, and the longer ‘mini’ length made it feel elegant without revealing too much. I paired it with suede loafers and my trusty Totême bag in a matching tone for a look that felt simple, comfortable, and very New York.
DAY 2
Dress - COS / Ballet flats - Aeyde / Bag - Liffner
On day two, I had a few work meetings, so the goal was to survive the heatwave while still looking polished and professional. For me, the answer is always a dress. It’s the easiest way to stay comfortable in the heat because there’s less fabric. The one I’m wearing here is made from a knitted fabric, which gave it a bit more structure and meant it didn’t crease throughout the day despite the humidity. I paired it with my trusty Liffner tote and classic ballet flats for a look that felt effortless, practical, and chic.

Everyday Delights aka Wellness in NYC
To me, New York feels like the destination for the “clean girl aesthetic.” Everywhere you look, girls in matching sets are moving effortlessly from a Tracy Anderson class to a blowout appointment, iced matcha in hand, picking up the latest Goop Kitchen order along the way. Wellness here isn’t treated like a trend; it’s part of the routine.
During my trip, I wanted to lean into that energy and create my own wellness-focused New York itinerary. I built my days around 4 principles that, to me, capture what NYC wellness looks like: movement, balance, routine, and self-care. Consider this my NYC wellness diary.
Soho
Sweetgreen
West Village
STEPS, SIDEWALKS AND SOMETHING GREEN TO GO…
Walking became my main mode of transportation. I wandered through different neighbourhoods, discovered corners of the city, and made it feel effortless to get my 10K steps. Along the way, I prioritized nourishing food spots, too. Sweetgreen is always a favourite, but I also wanted to try places like Matter Formula, Goop Kitchen, and Brodo. Sadly, there’s never enough time to try every healthy takeout spot NYC has to offer.
Fuze House

HOT WORKOUTS & FULL CALENDARS…
One thing I love about New York wellness culture is how fitness fits seamlessly into busy schedules. I tried a 6 am class at Fuze House in TriBeCa and loved starting the day with a hot workout, even with a packed itinerary. It reminded me that wellness should be prioritized daily, no matter the state of my calendar. The class was a lot warmer than the heated classes I’m used to back home so it was really cool to try something new in a room packed with women who have their life together. Or at least, they seemed to.
Sant Ambroeus
Leset boutique in the West Village
La Cabra
IT’S ALL ABOUT BALANCE…
Another pillar of wellness? Balance. For me, that looked like ordering the Prinsesstårta at Sant Ambroeus without guilt (which I mentioned in last week’s post, they’re beautiful but perhaps not my favourite dessert), browsing Leset and Doên in the West Village, and spending a slow morning at La Cabra with a good cup of tea and cardamom bun. Wellness isn’t only bone broth, lymphatic drainage, and workouts; it’s also allowing yourself your favourite things once in a while and making sure they still feel special.

SELF CARE IN THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS…
Even in a city that moves nonstop, I wanted to make space for rest. Staying at the Ludlow felt like the perfect escape: early nights, skincare, quiet moments, and listening to what my body needed. Plus the setting was beautiful and made me feel like I was in a movie. Sometimes wellness in New York is less about doing more and more and more about creating calm in the middle of the noise.
Let me know if you have any other wellness recommendations in NYC or other cities, I love that type of content!
This Week’s Edit
Mélisse NYC + their Moda Operandi Trunkshow
Staying on the New York theme, I recently started following Mélisse Martineau on TikTok. She’s a creator whose aesthetic and style I’ve completely fallen in love with. She previously worked at DVF and has since launched her own bag brand using deadstock textiles, which makes the pieces feel even more special. I’m obsessed with her vlogs, but especially with the effortless way she puts everything together. She recently released a limited collection with Moda Operandi, and this is the bag I ended up getting. Can’t wait to wear it at a wedding this September and hopefully for more casual occasions in between.
I picked up this book while browsing McNally Jackson in SoHo, and it ended up being the perfect New York read. It’s a romance, but also a story about toxic love, nostalgia, and heartbreak. Reading it reminded me a little of Belle Burden’s memoir, and I completely fell into the story and would absolutely recommend it.
Hunza G x Burberry Collaboration
Not following the theme of this blog post, but the Hunza G x Burberry collaboration has been absolutely everywhere on my feeds this week, and I honestly think it’s one of the best designer collaborations we’ve seen in a long time. It feels like the perfect blend of both brands’ codes. As much as I love the collection, I still can’t quite justify the price point for swimwear, so I’ll be admiring it from afar.
Other Women, Nicola Maye Goldberg
Another book set in NYC and Berlin. This is a novel about a young woman drifting through New York after dropping out of college. She becomes a live-in nanny for a wealthy family and is drawn into their tensions and secrets. I loved the writing a lot, and this was a 5-star for me.
